RUPERT • Diane Marie (Gentry) Worthington Carter, 65-year-old Rupert resident, passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born Feb. 23, 1947, in Rupert, the daughter of Wesley Clyde and Margaret Gentry. She attended school at Minico High School. She married Ron Worthington on Oct. 23, 1965, and they later divorced. She then married Larry Craig Carter on Aug. 27, 2012, at her home in Rupert. Her whole life was spent working on the Gentry farm, along with many years at both Ore-Ida and Simplot. She was not only a mother to her children but to many that called her mother just because she cared for them like her own. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved the outdoors, including camping, fishing, rock collecting and gardening, and raising house plants.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Craig Carter of Rupert; her children, Deidra (Rick) Wageman of Burley and Diona (Jerry) Cantu of Burley; two stepdaughters, Tiauna (Justin) Easton of Rigby, Idaho, and Tara (Ryan) Tonks; her siblings, Keith Gentry of Rupert, Kenneth (Lois) Gentry of Rupert, David (Kathy) Gentry of Featherville, Idaho, and Lee (Danny Ann) Gentry of Arlington, Wash. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; two sisters; her son, Ted Worthington; and grandson, Cleston Raney.

A celebration of Diane’s life, along with a potluck dinner, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Lake Walcott Park at Minidoka Dam in Rupert. Those attending are asked to bring a food dish of their choice, along with a comfortable chair.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Huntsman Cancer Institute and the LDS Promise Care Unit in Salt Lake City for their wonderful care given to Diane.
