HEYBURN - Karen Ann Fowler, 68 year old Heyburn resident, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Cassia Regional Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Her heart will never be forgotten or duplicated. 

She was born June 25, 1948 in Burley, Idaho, the daughter of Joe and Leah Neiwert Martsch. She attended Minico High School and graduated in 1966. She attended Utah State University in Logan and also Boise State University. She married Max Fowler on June 20, 1969 in Burley. They spent time in the Boise area before moving back to the Mini-Cassia area. She was a one time member of the Paul Congregational Church in Paul. She was a very spiritual person with a deep love of the Lord. Karen was a devoted care giver to her mother Leah for many years. She worked as a secretary for many businesses including hospitals, local veterinarian clinic, and Simplots. She was co-owner of Snake River Pointing Labs. She loved dogs, and rescued many of them. She enjoyed fishing and camping, and long walks enjoying the outdoors.

She is survived by her husband, Max Fowler of Heyburn, her children, Jeremy Fowler of Burley and his daughter Leeanna Douglas/Fowler of Burley and Justin Fowler of Heyburn. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wells and his staff, Intermountain Home Care and Hospice, especially Mindy, Bridget and Kay. St. Luke’s MSTI in Twin Falls, Teresa at Primary Therapy, the nurses at Cassia Regional Medical Center, and all her friends for all their love and support. We will all miss her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn.
