Sharon Valene Owenby was born 22 April 1948 in Elko, Nevada. She married while still in high school, graduating as “Sharon Valene Walker”. She was later married to Steve Thiebaud on July 4, 1979. They made their home in or near Rupert.

Sharon attended the Minico class reunion in 1986. She seemed quite happy and content when I visited with her at that reunion. It came as a shock to learn later from a classmate that she and her husband were killed that same year in a plane crash. According to public records, the accident occurred on 29 December 1986 in Rawlins, Wyoming, as they were taking off.

Sharon and Steve are buried in the Rupert Cemetery. Their grave marker can be viewed at www.findagrave.com .  Sharon’s memorial is #54414753; Steven’s is #54414820. Information is also available at FamilySearch.org and Ancestry.com.
