Allen M. Peterson

Boise – Allen M. Peterson, 58 of Boise, passed away on July 15, 2006, at the V.A. Hospital in Boise.

Allen was born on January 23, 1948, in Burley, the son of Max and Alice Peterson. Allen spent his growing up years on the family farm west of Paul.

While in high school he worked part time at his father’s Conoco service station in North Burley and helped on the family farm and dairy. He graduated from Minico High School in 1966. After graduation he worked for the BLM and was later drafted into the Army. He took his training at Fort Lewis, Washington, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and Fort Ord, California. He then served in Vietnam. After being discharged from the army he returned to Idaho and worked for Gustafson Chemical Company in Marsing, Idaho. Allen had also lived in Mesa, Arizona and worked for Stewart and Johnson. When he came back to Paul he worked for Triple C.

Allen enjoyed spending time in the Owyhee Desert. He enjoyed going to Quartzite, Arizona in February where a rock show was held each year. He was a rock hound and polished and made rocks into jewelry of all sorts.

Allen moved to Boise where he worked as a brick mason and later worked for the Ada County Highway District.

Allen married Jan goodnight in Boise and was happy to have Jan’s daughter Brandy and her three young sons, Christopher, Alex and Bryson as part of his family. Being Grandpa to Christopher, Alex and Bryson was a great joy to him.

Allen is survived by his wife, Jan, Brandy and her three sons, all of Boise, his mother Alice Peterson of Paul, Brother, Clair (Kristine) Peterson of Heyburn, sisters Maxeen (Morgan) Ward of Elba, Colleen Tilby of Burley, and Jean (Bert) Belliston of Heyburn.

He was preceded in death by his father Max Peterson and his grandparents, Les and Thelma Peterson and Elias and Hannah Bowers. A memorial service will be held at a future date. Arrangements are under the direction of Mt. View Funeral Home, Boise.
