Jan. 6, 1948-May 10, 2015

EUGENE, Ore. | Linda Joy Rothauge was born in Concordia, Kan., on Jan. 6, 1948, to John and Joyce Rogers, the oldest of four sisters. She moved with her family to Paul, Idaho, and graduated from Minico High School in 1966. Linda moved to Eugene in 1966 to attend Northwest Christian College and graduated with a degree in Christian education. She continued her studies at the University of Oregon and earned a master’s degree in library science. Linda worked in the Bethel School District as a librarian and later as a middle school teacher. After retiring, she still had a love for teaching and taught at Homesource and finished her teaching career at Life Lutheran School. Linda loved all of her students and found much joy in seeing young people learn and grow.

Linda met and married Darrel Rothauge in 1985. They enjoyed gardening, camping, antiquing, their church family and mainly spending time with family and friends. The great joys in her life were her two sons, Dale and Kyle; and most recently, her granddaughter, Lynix.

Linda waged a valiant battle with cancer for a year and a half. She passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015, at home surrounded by loving family and friends.

Linda is survived by her husband and sons; as well as her sisters, Dala (Tom) Walton and Karla (Hermie) Bott. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Jana.

A memorial service was held May 16 at the First Christian Church in Junction City, Ore.

Instead of flowers, Linda requested donations be made to the scholarship funds of Junction City First Christian Church, 1250 Nyssa St., Junction City, OR 97448; Lifegate Christian School, 1052 Fairfield Ave., Eugene, OR 97402; or Life Lutheran School, 710 E, 17th Ave., Eugene, OR 97401).

Linda Christianson (Cooper)

I remember all the fun times I had with LInda. We were friends throughout high school and attend college in Eugene. We had a blast with all the church activities that we participated in. Lots of laughs and sleep overs at my house. She is missed and I wish her peace!
