Teresa Thomas Stapleman Obituary, September 17, 1948 ~ November 3, 2024 (age 76)

Teresa Stapleman, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, family member, and friend, passed away on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024. 

Teresa was born on September 17, 1948, to Kenneth Thomas and Phyllis Nisbet. She was raised with three siblings, Rodney, David, and Mary. All grew up on a farm in Rupert, Idaho along with forty acres of crops, cows, and horses. Even with her surroundings, she did not like to get dirty or enjoy the farming lifestyle. Though her father didn’t seem to mind this misfortune. Teresa graduated in 1966 and married Michael Stapleman in 1968 where they continued to reside in Rupert in a home of their own. Teresa still owned that home at her passing. Her and Mike became good friends with neighbors while raising their children and held memorable fourth of July firework shows. Neighbors, family members, and friends would attend annually. Teresa also enjoyed time with her family by camping, fishing, and snowmobiling. She also loved Reece’s miniature candy. 

Teresa went to beauty school later in life after her children had left to go on their own adventures. She continued to do this from 1985-1997, and then decided to travel with her husband Mike while he worked. 

Mike passed away in 2001 and she moved to Sun Valley where she went to work as a receptionist in a salon at the lodge. She worked there for 15 years. During that time, Teresa made many friends that quickly became more like family. She had a very tender and sweet spirit that attracted many. In 2015, she returned to Rupert to care for her mother. While caring for her mother, she was also able to attend many events with her grandchildren and would travel to be a part of their important activities. 

The last year and a half, Teresa spent at Highland Estates in Burley, Idaho, surrounded by a revolving door of consistent visitors of all who loved her. Including the generous caregivers and toward the end, hospice helpers. A special thank you to those who took good care of her during these times. 

Teresa is proceeded in death by her husband, Michael Stapleman, parents Kenneth and Phyllis Thomas, brother Rodney Thomas, and Stephanie.

She is survived by her children; Ryan (Cheri) Stapleman, Torie (Billy) Smith, and Toby Stapleman as well as her grandchildren: Keagan, Caleb, Milee, Ashlee, and Kayle. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary (Tim), Rogers, and David (Susie) Thomas.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Hansen Mortuary. Burial at the Rupert Cemetery 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
