Maybe not favorite but did have a few memories of Grover Newman. He liked to use his pointer a lot to point at things and on occasion, it was used for other purposes. I did work with him one summer though building a duplex there in Rupert. Saw a different side of him then.
Delane Fetzer & I used to take our shotguns to school and go pheasant hunting in the fall after school. Can't do that now.

As I said earlier in a previous profile, after graduation, I moved to Nebraska with my parents and then joined the Air Force in Jan of 67. That took me to San Antonio, TX for basic training and then to Fort Walton Beach, Florida for extensive training on A1-E prop airplanes that I would work on later. While in Florida, we rented a boat and went skiing in the Gulf of Mexico. I was having a great time & happened to look to my side and saw fins sticking out of the water. My first thought was, SHARK! It turned out to be Dophins swimming along with me. After Florida, they sent me to Udorn,
Thialand. There I loaded bombs & ammo on the A1-Es that I trained on in Florida. I stayed there for a year and then got orders to go to Minot, North Dakota. At the same time, they were asking for volunteers to go to Misawa, Japan. I checked on Minot and found it is one of the coldest places on Earth so I volunteered to go to Japan. I spent a year and a half there and then finished out my tour of duty at George AFB near Victorville, Calif. I met my wife there and we were married in Jan of 71. We moved to Arapahoe, NE and have been here every since.

Haven't been to a reunion since the 10th so lots have happened since then. We've lost a son to a car accident, two daughters have married & un-married as many have these days. My wife & I just celebrated our 45th wedding aniversary in Jan of this year. She has taken a turn for the worse in the past few years, she now has COPD, a pace maker, and several other health issues that make it hard to do a lot of things we had planned. I retired from a company that I worked at for 36 years back in 2007. The stock market went to pot in 2007 & 2008 & so did my 401-K. Thanks to a pension and Social Security, we are getting by though.

I still have an older sister, Barbara, that lives in the house we used to live in there in Rupert. Back in 1955, we lived in Bradshaw, NE & like a lot of other people, my parents needed work and set out for Washington to pick peaches. After several flats on the car and truck with a stop at Hanzel's there in Rupert, dad found a job there as a mechanic and we settled in Rupert, not picking peaches but potatos. I stayed there with my parent's until they decided to leave Idaho and go back to Nebraska where we live now.
